At Suntory, we believe in doing more than just offering products; we recognize it is our responsibility to make a positive impact on those around us, and to give back to nature and society.
Our founder, Shinjiro Torii, believed that success is only real when it is shared. We owe ours to nature, to our customers, our employees, and our communities. Giving back is our way of saying thank you.
Our founder, Shinjiro Torii, ensured that Giving Back to Society remained one of the Suntory Group’s founding values. He was passionately committed to social welfare activities, and that same conviction is rooted in the hearts of Suntory Group employees today, who are volunteer and contribute to social activities around the world.
During the depression that followed World War I, Shinjiro Torii opened the Imamiya Dispensary. This provided free medical care and medications to those in need, and was the origin of the Social Welfare Organization, Hojukai.
For over a century, Hojukai has conducted the Suntory Group’s social welfare activities. Since World War II, the Group has adopted and implemented social activities in harmony with prevailing national and public sentiment.
Today it continues these sincere efforts and operates Takadonoen, a special-care nursing home for the elderly and Tsubomi Nursery School in Osaka.
This a special-care nursing home in Asahi-ku, Osaka City, along with the Tsubomi Nursery School, exemplifies Hojukai's mission to nurture intergenerational connections. It provides a space where elderly residents and preschool children can interact freely and form meaningful relationships.
