Suntory × Gurunavi
New “TAKU-BEN(TM)” Service for Corporations to be Launched, Using Drink Vending Machines Installed in Offices to Order Lunchboxes for Delivery from Neighborhood Restaurants

- Supporting the creation of a more comfortable workplace by enriching “food” choices for working people -

Suntory Beverage & Food Limited subsidiary Suntory Beverage Solution Limited (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masato Tsuchida), is developing a full-line beverage service business that includes vending machines for Suntory beverages. From July, Suntory Beverage Solution Limited will partner with Gurunavi, Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Seiichiro Kubo; hereinafter called “Gurunavi”) to launch the new “TAKU-BENTM” vending machine service for corporations to support a more comfortable workplace by enriching the lunch experiences of working people by broadening their food choices, beginning with the Chuo-ku, Minato-ku, Chiyoda-ku and Shinagawa-ku*1 areas of Tokyo.
TAKU-BENTM is a service that uses TAKU-BENTM-specification vending machines installed in the workplace to enable the same method used to buy beverages to be used to order lunchboxes made and delivered by neighborhood restaurants coordinated by Gurunavi. After ordering, a freshly made lunchbox is delivered from the restaurant to the workplace.

*1 Even within Chuo-ku, Minato-ku, Chiyoda-ku and Shinagawa-ku, some areas are not eligible for this service.
Also, only vending machines managed by Suntory Beverage Solution Limited will be eligible.

With the promotion of “Working Style Reforms,” there is rising demand for ways to save even small amounts of time and, as symbolized by phrases such as “lunch refugees,”*2 a number of issues have emerged in relation to lunch at the office.
According to a Gurunavi survey, 43% of people felt dissatisfaction with their office lunch environment, and as many as 36% failed to have lunch at least once a month.
(Survey summary: conducted in May 2018, within the 23 wards of Tokyo among men and women in their 20s to 50s; n=2125)

*2 People who have difficulty getting lunch due to a lack of restaurants in the area of the office, or due to such restaurants always been crowded and busy.

The TAKU-BENTM service is implemented as a collaboration between Suntory Beverage Solution Limited, which wanted to use the vending machines that are the closest point of contact for people working in offices and factories, to enrich the “food” choices for working people, and to support the creation of a more comfortable workplace, and Gurunavi, which wanted to connect local places to eat with offices, thus further invigorating the neighborhood restaurants.
TAKU-BENTM allows a lunchbox for delivery from a restaurant to be conveniently ordered from vending machines in the office, enabling customers to avoid having to wait in line at restaurants during the busy lunchtime period, and permits a freshly made meal to be enjoyed while making efficient use of work time.

Through TAKU-BENTM, Suntory Beverage Solution Limited aims to generate synergies with Gurunavi, support the creation of a more comfortable workplace, and at the same time further energize the beverage market vending machine channel.
