BIOMBO in Portuguese and Spanish is an equivalent of "byobu" in Japanese meaning folding screens. This exhibition spotlights Japanese folding screens, a long cherished interior decor and re-examines their history and roles in Japanese culture from a global perspective. The restored screens of which originals were presented to foreign governments or separately owned by various collectors will be among the features.
