Suntory Hall Silvester Concert 2024
Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien
Suntory Hall is pleased to present the popular Silvester Concert 2024 featuring the Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien (Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna=SOVOP) on Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 14:00.
For almost 35 years, Suntory Hall has celebrated New Year’s Eve and the New Year with the Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Wien and distinguished singers, who entertain us with selections of delightful Viennese waltzes and polkas that everyone will be familiar with. The Silvester Concert is a matineé so that after the performance people will have plenty of time to welcome in the New Year.
The programme includes familiar masterpieces such as numbers from Johann Strauss Jr’s operetta Die Fledermaus, a New Year’s Eve favourite, and Lehar’s Gold und Silber Waltz. The concert will be led by conductor Alexander Joel, who is currently Principal Guest conductor of the Volksoper Wien and conducts around Europe. As soloists, we are thrilled to welcome back soprano Siphiwe McKenzie, who delighted us at Silvester/New Year Concert in 2019/20, and tenor Szabolcs Brickner Kammersänger of the Hungarian State Opera. They will be joined on stage by the elegant dancers of the Ballett Ensemble SOVOP.
This year, a special Silvester Ticket, which includes a premium S-seat and a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne, is available.
Please enjoy an elegant afternoon to round off 2024 at Suntory Hall.
