Suntory Hall is pleased to present the highly popular New Year Concert 2024 featuring the Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien (Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna =SOVOP) on January 1 - 3, 2024.
For over 30 years, Suntory Hall has celebrated the end of the year and the beginning of another year with the orchestra, singers and dancers of the celebrated Volksoper Wien, who entertain us with selections of popular operettas and familiar Viennese waltzes and polkas. We are happy to host this festive event again for New Year 2024.
Making her first appearance in the Silvester and New Year concerts is the brilliant coloratura soprano Beate Ritter, who charmed audiences at the Volksoper company’s visit in 2016. She will be joined by tenor Mehrzad Montazeri, who makes a welcome return, and together they will sing some exquisite duets. The concert will be led by the multi-talented conductor Guido Mancusi, who last appeared in these concerts in 2018. A former choirboy of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, Mancusi is also a composer, and he will present some of his works including the Shinkansen Polka, inspired by his experiences in Japan, alongside masterpieces by the Strauss family, Lehár, and Kálmán. They will be joined on the stage by the graceful dancers of the Ballet Ensemble SOVOP Wien.
