Suntory Whisky Chita
Born from the philosophy of diverse whisky making and Art of Blending.

In September 2015, Suntory launched Suntory Whisky Chita. Chita is distilled at the Chita Distillery located in the Chita Peninsula of Aichi Prefecture, a time-honored manufacturing region of cotton and sake.

Chita Distillery – Diverse whisky making
Established in 1972, the Chita Distillery has produced grain whisky, dedicated to creating the highest-quality Japanese grain whisky.
Grain whisky, primarily made from corn and other grains, is distilled by column stills. Chita Distillery makes diverse type of grain whisky by changing the number of columns for distillation, which are rarely seen in other parts of the world. The world-class quality and versatile flavor of Suntory’s grain whisky is also derived from the various range of casks used for maturation, such as Spanish oak and wine casks.

Versatile flavor and exquisite balance
Chita is a blend of unparalleled range of grain whiskies. As a result Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo achieved an unrivalled balance of complexity and versatile flavor. Chita pairs well with a variety of cuisines including Japanese dishes, and is particularly suited to the highball style of whisky and soda.

The vibrant and bright gold whisky is elegantly reflected in a clear bottle sealed with a deep-indigo cap seal that evokes the movement of the wind. Calligrapher Tansetsu Ogino has skilfully written the Japanese letters meaning chita in sumi black to express the distinctive qualities of Japanese whisky, set on a white Japanese washi paper label representing its gentle flavor.
