Suntory Flowers Expanding Its Activity Across the World!
Two years after Suntory Flowers entered the flower seedling field in 1989 by launching sales of Surfinia in Japan, this product went on sale in overseas countries and was a huge hit in Europe and North America. Today, Suntory Flowers continues offering Surfinia and many other seedlings in roughly 30 countries across the world.
Each year, Suntory Flowers takes part in exhibitions for the flower industry and plants many flowers with the aim of promoting its products to general consumers. This year, it had many opportunities to show its flowers in other countries including the Asian region.
From April 9th to 14th The Spring Trials , an event for the horticulture industry, took place at the GroLink Plant Company in California, the U.S. This year saw an increasing number of visitors from many countries including Europe, Japan, and China, giving a sense that the brand is becoming progressively globalized. Suntory Flowers took part in business discussions and displayed Grandessa and Surfinia Heartbeat, new products that are very popular in Japan; standard SunParasol and Surfinia Sumo; and Beedance, which went on sale two years ago.
Suntory Flowers also planted Surfinia Heavenly Blue at the Dallas Arboretum in Texas, the U.S. and it is now blooming like a beautiful wave. Last year’s plantings of Surfinia Heavenly Blue were highly appraised, which is why they selected to plant this flower once again.
Also, roughly 40,000 pots of Surfinia Deep Red and Surfinia Heavenly Blue were planted at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China for the celebration of Chinese Labor Day in May this year. Tiananmen Square is a popular tourist attraction, and many visitors were moved by and took photographs of the beautiful lines formed by these flowers.
Three-dimensional forms made from Surfinia Deep Red—created using the unique, ground-breaking GARSY Garden System—were installed at the entrance of a partner company to welcome visitors.
Suntory Flowers will continue developing and selling flowers that will be continually beloved across the world.
