Suntory Beverage & Food Limited (SBF) will release its new hydration beverage, OVI, throughout Australia in mid-August via its subsidiary, Frucor Beverages (Australia) Pty Ltd. (Frucor (Australia); headed by Jonathan Moss and headquartered in Sydney, Australia). The product is Suntory's first soft drink ever to be sold in the Australian market.

OVI is a new value-added beverage containing green tea which SBF developed jointly with the Frucor Group for the growing Australian hydration drink market.

Carbonated drinks and beverages containing fruit juice account for almost 70 percent of Australia's soft drink market. The market has been seeing demand for low-sugar, low-calorie soft drink products pick up pace in step with increasing consumer health awareness.

Working against this backdrop, SBF has harnessed the Suntory Group's expertise to develop a great-tasting hydration beverage containing an antioxidant (sourced from green tea). SBF will launch the new beverage via Frucor (Australia) with an eye to re-activating the Australian beverage market by creating a whole new product category.

● About the flavors

OVI contains sea salt and honey t for ideal hydration . It also contains essence from green tea and fruit  to suit lifestyle of  health-conscious consumers. OVI comes in three types of flavors including berry, peach, and citrus.

● Product name and packaging

Aiming to appeal to health-conscious consumers, the product was named OVI. It’s a combination of "Oh!," since it’s surprisingly tasty for a healthy drink, and "vie," the French word for "life."
The simple package design features the OVI logo on the front accompanied by illustrations of cut fruits and tea leaves against the colors that represent their flavors.
