This album includes pictures by 15 famous painters working in Kyoto, Osaka, and Edo in the 18th century, including Itō Jakuchū, Maruyama Ōkyo, Tani Bunchō, and Hara Zaichū. According to the epilogue, this album was edited by one Baiinsen Minwa (possibly Aikawa Minwa, a painter in Osaka). Selecting the cream of the crop from a collection amassed over a dozen years, he put the pictures together in this gorgeous format. It is a refined work that allows the viewer to study and enjoy a group of unique works from different schools. It is also valuable for the insights it provides into the art world and cultural networks at the time.
