The blue rose paper (Plant Cell Physiology, (2008) 49: 493-500) was selected as one of the twelve "leading papers" that have significantly contributed to key developments in the plant sciences from more than 8000 reports publihsed in "Plant Cell Physiology" of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists in the past 55 years by the Chief Editorial Board of the journal.
