“6th Vienna Philharmonic & Suntory Music Aid Award” Recipients Confirmed

The Suntory Foundation for Arts (Director Generals: Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Shingo Torii) has decided to present the “6th Vienna Philharmonic & Suntory Music Aid Award,” a promotion service of the Vienna Philharmonic & Suntory Music Aid Fund, to the following 12 recipients.

To continue efforts to energize disaster-stricken areas and the nation through the revitalization of Japanese music culture, the Music Aid Award invites applications from groups and individuals throughout Japan conducting activities that meet the objectives of the Fund. The Award was established in 2012 and will continue for ten years through 2021. A grant will be provided to the award recipients.

Eligible Activities:
Activities such as musical performances and efforts to promote music that are mainly focused on classical music and will be held in Japan between November 1, 2017 and October 31, 2018, with the aim of energizing disaster-stricken areas and the nation

Selection Process:
Award recipients were selected through deliberation by the selection committee on August 22, 2017 and officially confirmed by the Foundation’s board of directors on September 21, 2017.

Grant Total:7 million yen
