OSAKA, Japan, December 24, 2024 -Suntory Holdings Limited and Daikin Industries, Ltd. will provide entertainment in conjunction with their joint exhibit “Under the Midnight Rainbow” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (Osaka, Kansai Expo).

In addition to “Under the Midnight Rainbow,” the main show held in the evening, interactive entertainments will also be available at the Water Plaza and throughout the Expo site, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the same enchanting world during the daytime.

These include the water show “A Symphony of Air and Water” where water fountains dance dynamically to the music composed by Yoko Kanno, which is also used in the main show, as well as an interactive experience show called “A Synchronization of Air and Water” where the audience can control the extensive fountain system. Furthermore, the exhibit provides digital content using augmented reality (AR) technology called “The AR Parade of Air and Water”, where visitors can see animated creatures parading around various locations within the Expo site.

Throughout the day, all visitors will be able to see, experience, and enjoy the “Festival of Living Creatures” which has been nurtures by air and water.

■Captivating show featuring music and fountains “A Symphony of Air and Water”
At the Water Plaza, there will be a five-minute daytime water show in which water rhythmically pulsates from the fountains to a lighthearted piano melody composed by Yoko Kanno which is also used in the evening show. Approximately 300 fountains extend across the water to express the show’s theme, air and water theme. The Water Plaza opens to the sea and sky, which makes it the perfect place for visitors to enjoy the harmony of air, water, music, and fountains.
・Date/Time:Held every day of the Expo from 11:00 to 16:00 on the hour for about 5 minutes

■Magical experience where water shoots in sync with your movements at “A Synchronization of Air and Water”
This show is an interactive audience-participation event where water shoots up in response to the participants’ gestures, giving them the spectacular experience of controlling approximately 300 fountains. After the show “A Symphony of Air and Water” concludes, a staff will appear at the Water Plaza* and selected guests are invited to participate to choreograph the show by freely moving their bodies under the staff’s lead. Watching the fountains rise and fall in various patterns according to their body movements provides participants with a thrilling feeling as if they have become a magician.
・Date/Time:Held intermittently for about 20 minutes after “A Symphony of Air and Water” ends.

■Encountering living creatures through digital content in “The AR Parade of Air and Water”
At the Expo site, guests can hold up their smartphones and see animated creatures parading through the air on their screen via AR technology. The animated creatures will form a parade from various locations within the site and move towards the Water Plaza, inviting people to join in the festivities along the way. Guests can also take photos with the creatures that appear and keep the photos as a souvenir of the Expo. By scanning the two-dimensional codes installed throughout the site with their smartphones or tablets, they can easily enjoy the experience without having to download any special apps.

◇Spectacular shows held every day in the largest show area in the history of the World Expo
A massive stage space is being created on the water of the “Water Plaza,” which is roughly 200 meters by 60 meters in area. About 8,800 square meters are planned for the show area. At the center of the stage, a water cascade will be constructed to form a water screen. About 300 fountains will be placed in a densely arranged area together with a variety of lighting, lasers, and other production equipment. These elements will resonate with music, creating a spectacular show where visitors can experience the story.
