The Suntory Group has established an outline of the schedule for the restoration of the Suntory Kyushu Kumamoto Plant (Plant Manager: Takeshi Hashimoto) damaged in the Kumamoto earthquakes of 2016.
Since the earthquakes in April, employees and partner companies have worked together in the plant to safely remove debris, conduct inspections of equipment and conduct investigations aimed at restoration, and a restoration plan aimed at the resumption of operation has now been established. The delivery center in the plant was already restored in early June, enabling normal shipments within the Kyushu area. Work is currently underway to repair the damaged buildings and equipment, and efforts aimed at the restoration are gaining pace.
Now, the aim is to commence preparation in November to restore keg beer production lines. The Premium Malt’s keg beer is expected to be delivered to restaurants and bars in December. Suntory aims to restore the canned beer production line in January 2017. Production of beverages such as (Mineral Water) Suntory Aso Tennensui and plant tours are expected to resume after next spring.
All companies in the Suntory Group will work together to restore the plant and deliver the products it produces to the people of Kyushu as soon as possible.
