"Les Citadelles du Vin" is an esteemed international wine competition held with support from the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).

This marks the second consecutive year that Suntory has been awarded the Special Award Japan and Gold Medal, and is an extremely meaningful recognition that signifies Suntory's endeavors to create wines have been highly valued.

Characteristics of the winning wines

Tomi White 2011, Suntory Tomi no Oka Winery
This wine is made only from fully ripe Chardonnay grapes nurtured in rich vineyards under strict restrictions on yield. The wine is matured after being carefully fermented in small French oak casks, creating a superb product with a mellow flavor. With a radiant green yellow hue, it strikes a wonderful balance between a fresh aroma with hints of citrus and mint, and a refined woody aroma that evokes a nutty note. It has a delicate yet complex flavor, and just the right tinge of tartness for a pleasant aftertaste that lingers.
Suntory Japan Premium Takayamamura Chardonnay 2011
This wine uses 100% Chardonnay grapes from Takayamamura in Nagano Prefecture and is characterized by a citrusy, honey-like fragrance and the perfect measure of a woody note. This white wine is richly fruity with a mild flavor and the right amount of acidity.
